All About Discount Dental Plans

Importance of Good Dental Health

Good dental care is so important to your family's good health and well-being.   Who can underestimate the importance of a pleasant and attractive smile and the good health benefits that come with that healthy smile?  Yet over 7 out of 10 Americans lack an affordable dental plan

Dental and gum disease can effect your general health.  There is evidence that the bacteria from diseased gums and teeth may cause inflammation in the body which can eventually lead to heart and coronary artery disease.  Preventive dental care can avoid these serious complications.  In addition, a pleasant and healthy smile can help you feel confident and secure when you meet people and can even help you perform better at a job interview.  With a discount dental plan, families can save money on dental care and enjoy the benefits of a healthy smile.

What are Discount Dental Plans?

In my work as an AmeriPlan® Independent Business Owner, I speak to many individuals every day who lack an affordable dental plan.  Even among those who do have dental insurance, most of these traditional dental insurance plans prove to be very inadequate.  Often these plans have serious limitations on coverage, have waiting periods for pre-existing conditions, do not cover dental implants or cosmetic dentistry, and some do not even provide for orthodontic treatment (braces) for either children or adults.  With the high cost of dentistry, a $1,000 or even a $1,500 per year limit will not take a family very far.

Dental Discount Plans provide the consumer with an excellent choice for saving money on dental care.  These affordable dental plans are reasonably priced alternatives to expensive and often inadequate dental insurance coverage.  Savings typically range from 25% for specialist treatment (periodontists, oral surgeons, endodontists) to 80% for exams.  Most major dental procedures such as fillings, root canals, crowns and bridges, dentures, and orthodontic treatment offer savings from 50% to 60% when done by a general dentist--literally cutting a family's dental bill by more than half.
